Got Bannock is a grassroots cause to feed the hungry, the homeless, the less fortunate on the cold streets of Winnipeg.
Our official days of action fall on the first and third Sunday of each month; we go out regardless of the weather conditions, please dress to be outside.
We meet at North Centennial Leisure Facility located at 90 Sinclair St. starting at 11 am.
Volunteers cook, prep food items, package it all, and we head down to Main St, at Dufferin Ave. for 3 pm. We set up tables and hand out lunch to 150 hungry people and we feed all races, all ages, and no one is turned away.
Our group accepts clothing donations directly to the street during the day of the lunch, and we try to provide tarps for the clothes but may not always have some. Boxes are a good method of delivery.
We accept toiletry donations which are stored for giveaway days. But please give directly to the Bannock Lady herself.
We are family friendly!
We welcome groups, however, we ask that the group do a drive or pull their resources together on their end to provide a contribution towards the lunch that they can prepare together and hand out.
Items are required to be handout-ready, out of all boxes/packaging and individually wrapped.
Goodies are welcome, they deserve a treat now and then too!
Come and be part of the village!
